The B.E.A.R. Fund was created in loving memory of Bear, a gentle, steady soul whose life continues to inspire kindness in our community. Today, the fund helps local pets receive essential veterinary care when their families are facing financial hardship — a quiet, meaningful way for Bear’s legacy to live on.

In southern West Virginia, many families want to do the right thing for their pets but struggle with the realities of our local economy. The B.E.A.R. Fund exists to bridge that gap with dignity, compassion, and respect.

How the Fund Helps

The B.E.A.R. Fund provides up to $150 in financial assistance once per client to help cover the cost of urgent or essential veterinary care.

Many of the families we help have little or nothing to contribute. The fund ensures pets don’t go without care simply because their families are struggling.

How to Donate

As part of our commitment to honoring the pets entrusted to us, All Creatures makes a small donation to the B.E.A.R. Fund in memory of every pet we help cross the rainbow bridge.

These memorial gifts allow each pet’s legacy to help another local animal receive care when their family is struggling.

Bear’s Story

Bear came to All Creatures as a 10‑month‑old puppy battling two serious issues at once — a broken leg and parvovirus. He was very sick and very close to losing that fight, but even then, he had the gentle, steady spirit that would define his life. With time, care, and a lot of love, he healed and grew into a cherished member of our clinic family.

Over the next ten years, Bear became a comforting presence to staff, clients, and patients alike. Because he survived parvo, Bear carried strong antibodies — and during his life, he provided lifesaving antibody support that helped save 166 puppies in our community. His strength became their second chance.

The B.E.A.R. Fund was created in his honor to carry that compassion forward. Today, Bear’s legacy lives on in every pet who receives help through the fund.
