COVID-19 UPDATE
The health and safety of our community, our clients, patients and team members continues to be our top priority!
Our staff has received hygiene protocol refresher training and continues to maintain a clean, safe and sanitary workspace. We have been practicing social distancing whenever possible. We are all wearing masks at all times, and all of our staff is fully vaccinated. We ask that you maintain social distancing whenever possible, as well as wear a mask as a courtesy to our staff whenever you are communicating with them in person. This allows each member of our team the best possible chance to stay healthy so that they can not only continue to help your pets, but also to provide for their families and keep them safe as well during these challenging times.
Since Thursday, March 19, 2020 our clinic has remained "open" but has been only offering CURBSIDE veterinary services to all of our clients. This means that upon arrival at our clinic, please call or text our main phone number (304-425-9944) and we will dispatch a technician to your vehicle to bring your pet inside for needed services. Our veterinarians will communicate with you by phone as much as necessary and be sure to answer all of your questions. After a written estimate is given to you and treatment is complete, our technicians will then send a secure link to your phone for payment and then bring your pet back out to your vehicle. If you chose, you may alternatively call our main phone number to complete your payment.
If you have an EMERGENCY or are in any way concerned about your pet and are unsure if it needs to be seen by our veterinarians but do not have an appointment for the day already scheduled, please call or text our main phone number during normal business hours. You may include PICTURES with your text message to help us triage your pet's needs. No diagnosis, treatment or prescriptions will be given without an examination, but we will advise you if your pet needs to be brought to our clinic. If the emergency occurs outside normal business hours, please call our main number and follow the prompts to be put in touch with the emergency veterinarian on call. They will make further recommendations based on your pet’s needs.
If you are feeling sick AT ALL, please arrange to have someone else bring your pet to our clinic or reschedule non-emergent services for a later date! Additionally, we are offering our PET TAXI for pet pickups and dropoffs. As a community service, we are WAIVING ALL FEES for our Taxi Service during this challenging time! This service will be available on a first come, first served basis. Yes, you read that right- we will pick up your pet and drop it back off to you for FREE!!! (restrictions apply)
To help calm fears of contagions, we'd like to share the following statement from the AMERICAN VETERINARY MEDICAL ASSOCIATION: "COVID-19 transmission primarily occurs when there is contact with an infected person’s bodily secretions, such as saliva or droplets from a cough or sneeze. Transmission might be possible by touching a contaminated surface or object (i.e., a fomite) and then touching the mouth, nose, or possibly eyes, but this appears to be a secondary route. In addition, smooth (non-porous) surfaces (e.g., countertops, door knobs) seem to transmit better than porous materials (e.g., paper money, pet fur). So it is much less likely that you would be infected by touching a client’s pet."
We vow to remain accessible for our clients during this global crisis and look forward to the day when our businesses, our lives and our community can return to normal! Please LIKE our Facebook page and watch for more updates as they become available! Thank you for your continued patience, understanding and kindness while we continue to do our very best to safely serve you and your pets during the COVID-19 pandemic.
